I've got a thought of his
Running through my mind
Was told by him a year ago
I've been trying to find the time
To share with you
What I heard about that day
Most different from all others
A gift presented by his wife
One that would change his life forever
As I was placed into Dad's hands
By our trusting loving Mother
Taken aback in peaceful reflection
The years have not touched
My youthful perception
Amidst a most vivid assemblage
Of joyful occasion
This amazing life of mine
In all of your eyes I know
Deserving little if any gentle persuasion
As I think more about him
We are the ones I vision most clearly
Quite simply we owe it all to him
Our Father
Most sincerely
If you ever get the chance to thank him
Each of you my brothers
I know it would be his honor
If said while hugging
Our sweet and beautiful
Mother
