To me it is powerful.
New York City depicts a feeling of belonging deep with in.
I have spent more than half my life here,
Working in this space and still do not have a complete grasp of where I am.
When I close my eyes,
I can reach and feel the texture of it. I breathe the energy of it.
I have walked alone on a quiet snow covered street
And have admired my footprints left behind with millions of others.
I have experienced the many beauties and tragedies of this incredible inspiring place.
I know there are amazing locations all over this planet. I consider myself
Lucky to have had the fortune of being placed here and contributing to its existence.
I heard a interview with a singer named Tom Waits. He was asked to describe NYC.
He said, " It is like being on a huge ship and the water all around you is on fire".
I know this. NYC will test your senses and put your mind to work.
Your heart will beat a little faster and your step will be slightly quicker.
You will be in a place that sets the pace.
While you are there you have no choice but to keep up.
People that survive long visits or lives in NYC have found places to rest.
They have figured out how not be completely undone by their thoughts.
To cope. To try. To pray.
Weakness may be the true measure of strength.
To become stronger and stay strong to the end.
To finish strong.
So NYC is life.
Life is everywhere.
